Job Summary
Serves as Supervisory Clinical Administrator at the Department of Behavioral Health, Saint Elizabeths Hospital. Responsible for coordinating all treatment programs provided by the multidisciplinary staff assigned to the unit. Coordinates and monitors all treatment and evaluation services for all civil and forensic patients with severe and persistent mental illness. Serves as a performance improvement expert, providing advice to management; conducts audits of the Individual Recovery Plans and medical documentation; ensures unit corrects deficiencies and assesses programmatic trends and patient/provider utilization review data, recovery planning, length of stay, conditional release status, and aftercare planning. Conduct multidisciplinary staff and case conferences. Plans and coordinates work to be accomplished and establish priorities and develops schedules for completion. Provides daily leadership, guidance and supervision to subordinate Clinical Administrators.
Qualifications
In addition to meeting the basic requirement, this position requires one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level.
Licensures, Certifications And Other Requirements
Current licensure in the District of Columbia in a clinical discipline is required (Social Work, Psychology, Nursing or professional counselor)
Education
Applicant must have completed a full (4) year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelors or higher degree with major study in an academic field relating to the health or allied science pertinent to the position.
Work Experience
Expert knowledge and experience serving mentally ill adults frequently exhibiting complex and/or co-occurring psychiatric disorders.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a controlled environment and involves some exposure to moderate risk of accidents and requires following basic safety precautions.

Tour of Duty: Monday thru Friday
8:15 am – 4:45 pm
This position is designated as Essential. As an Essential employee, you will be required to report to work or stay at work during a declared emergency.
Position Designation: This position is deemed as “Safety Sensitive” pursuant to Section 410 of Chapter 4 of the D.C. Personnel Regulations, in addition to the general suitability screening, individuals applying for or occupying safety sensitive positions are subject to the following checks and tests:
A person applying for a position in the Career Service, Educational Service, Management Supervisory Service, a line attorney position in the Legal Service (series 905), or an attorney position in the Excepted Service (series 905) who is a bona fide District resident AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION for the position may be awarded a 10-point residency preference over non-District applicants, unless the person declines the preference points. If selected, the person shall be required to present proof of bona fide District residency and maintain such residency for 7 consecutive years from the effective date of the appointment.
