What are the responsibilities and job description for the Records Specialist position at Daytona State College?
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree
- Six (6) months of related experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluates/Analyzes and researches incoming transfer credits from other secondary and post-secondary institutions and international credentials to determine acceptability and transferability.
- Edits transcript, inputs transfer work, and verifies accuracy for evaluation in the computer database
- Creates and updates/maintains student admissions, educational and transfer records in the computer to create in the student database.
- Creates and updates/maintains transfer equivalency database in the computer
- Interprets AP, CLEP, IB, ACT/SAT, PEP exams, military credit, conversion of vocational/state/county credit and non-collegiate courses.
- Advises students, faculty and staff on Records/Admissions policies and procedures relating to transfer credit evaluation, college curriculum, general education and program requirements, graduation and completing course work at other institutions.
- Serves as liaison between students, academic departments, deans, IT and other institutions.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned and directed by the President or their designee.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Must have good customer service skills.
- Have the ability to perform clerical and technical tasks requiring a wide range of procedures.
- Must be able to interpret information and make logical decisions.
- Must have strong organizational skills, as well as effective oral and written communication.
