What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machining B Mill - 3rd Shift - L5 position at Dayton-Phoenix Group?
Department 129 has an opening for a Third Shift CNC Machining operator. This job will consist of setting up and running various CNC machine center jobs throughout the machining department.
Essential qualifications for this position include:
- Must understand and be able to read and utilize machined part prints.
- Must have a working mechanical aptitude.
- Must be able to use hand tools and grinders.
- Must have basic math skills: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and conversion between decimals & fractions.
- All CNC Machine Level C essential qualifications met and 2-3 years or demonstration.
- Must be able to perform all mill setups with minimal help.
- Must be able to train others in department on all mills.
- Must be able to pass Level B Mill test (Written and demonstration).
- Must be able to read and understand programs.
- Must be able to use all measurement equipment in department.
- Must be able to perform tool touch off and offset adjustments on all mills.
- Must be able to make judgement of tool life and application.
- Must know what to do when machine stops unexpectedly.
- Must be able to make judgement of undesirable machined surface finish and what to do to correct.
- Understands need to adjust speeds & feeds.
- Must be able to perform basic troubleshooting.
- Must be able to set up and run parts with minimal scrap.
- Will be required to run multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously
- Must maintain an average efficiency % => the Department average
General qualifications:
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instruction
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds with manual dexterity
- Experience with and ability to use overhead power cranes
- Must be able to operate forklift, hand truck, material handling equipment, etc.
