What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machining A Mill & Lathe - 3rd Shift - L5 position at Dayton-Phoenix Group, Inc.?
Department 129 has an opening for a Third Shift CNC Machining operator. This job will consist of setting up and running various CNC machine center jobs throughout the machining department.
Essential Qualifications For This Position Include
Candidates must demonstrate during the trial period, the ability to perform the above listed responsibilities while producing quality parts, to print, at the routed rate and in a safe manner while maintaining accuracy of counts, and part numbers. The progress of any candidates selected for this posting shall be evaluated during the trial period to ensure that the job requirements are being met.
Essential Qualifications For This Position Include
- Must understand and be able to read and utilize machined part prints.
- Must have a working mechanical aptitude.
- Must be able to use hand tools and grinders.
- Must have advanced math skills: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and conversion between decimals & fractions.
- All CNC Machine Level B essential qualifications met and 5 years or demonstration
- Must be able to perform complex troubleshooting & know where/when to edit programs.
- Must be able to train others in the department on all machines.
- Candidates must pass Level A Test (Provide print and read and correct basic program demo).
- Must be able to make judgement of tool life and determine proper application.
- Must know what to do when machine stops unexpectedly, make corrections, and proceed.
- Must be able to make judgement of undesirable machined surface finish and correct.
- Must know how and when to adjust feeds & speeds.
- Must be able to set up and run with minimal scrap.
- Will be required to run multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instruction
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds with manual dexterity
- Experience with and ability to use overhead power cranes
- Must be able to operate forklift, hand truck, material handling equipment, etc.
