Job Description: Front Desk Clerk – Evening/Night Audit Shift

Position Overview
Responsible for providing excellent customer service while managing front desk operations during morning hours. Serves as the first point of contact for guests, handling check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and guest inquiries in a professional and courteous manner. Completes daily opening procedures, assists with transaction reconciliation, and ensures accurate hotel records.
This role also includes rotational laundry duties, supporting housekeeping operations by washing, drying, and folding hotel linens. Shifts may vary and include weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
Guest Check-in and Check-out:
Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner, complete the check-in and check-out process efficiently, and accurately input guest information into the hotel management system. Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately.
Customer Service:
Provide outstanding customer service by addressing guest inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly in person, over the phone, or via email. Assist guests with directions, recommendations, and general support during their stay.
Reservation Management:
Manage guest reservations accurately and efficiently, ensuring all bookings are recorded correctly. Assist guests with modifying or canceling reservations as needed.
Room Assignments:
Assign rooms based on guest preferences and availability, ensuring smooth check-in flow and guest satisfaction. Coordinate with housekeeping to ensure rooms are cleaned and ready on time.
Morning Operations:
Complete daily opening procedures, review reports, and ensure front desk systems and records are accurate and up to date.
Laundry Duties (Rotational):
Operate washers and dryers to clean hotel linens, towels, and bedding. Fold and organize laundry according to hotel standards, restock linen areas, and maintain cleanliness of the laundry room. Assist housekeeping as needed to support overall hotel operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (hospitality-related experience or certification is a plus)
- Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or a front desk role preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a professional demeanor
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency, including hotel management or reservation systems
- Attention to detail and commitment to service quality
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25–30 lbs
- Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, and holidays
