Teacher Assistant/ Daycare Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children.
• Support children with daily routines such as diapering, nap times, and hygiene practices in accordance with health and safety standards.
• Engage children through play-based learning activities that stimulate creativity, curiosity, and development of essential skills.
• Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment by following proper sanitation procedures and ensuring all toys and materials are well-organized.
• Observe and document children's progress, behaviors, and any concerns to inform ongoing developmental assessments to Head Teacher.
• Foster positive behavior management strategies to encourage cooperation, respect, and independence among children.
• Assist in classroom material preparation, and maintaining compliance with licensing regulations related to childcare standards.
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development to enhance caregiving skills.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying, or similar settings is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-specific caregiving techniques.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; need obtain certification if not already held.
• Prior experience with Brightwheel App is highly desirable.
• Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus.
• Strong classroom management skills coupled with the ability to implement behavior management strategies effectively.
• Familiarity with early childhood education practices and 'Creative Curriculum' implementation.
• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as lifting toddlers and preschoolers maintaining a safe environment for all children.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
