Summary
Under the general supervision of the fire controls foreman, the Electronic Tech (Fire Alarm/Intrusion Detection Technician) is responsible for the proper installation, programming, testing, maintenance and repair of the following equipment and systems: fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler supervision systems and intrusion detection systems.

This position will remain open until filled. 8 hours per day/255 days per year/Salary Grade 12 $26.30 per hour (2025-2026 Support Salary Table) Promotions result in a 5% minimum increase) GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the general supervision of the fire controls foreman the Electronic Tech (Fire Alarm/Intrusion Detection Technician) is responsible for the installation, testing, programming and repair of the following systems: fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler supervision systems and intrusion detection systems. Knowledge Skills and Abilities 1. Knowledge and understanding of commercial security and fire systems. 2. Ability and experience installing and programming intrusion detection and fire alarm systems. 3. Experience with DSC security systems. 4. Experience with Silent Knight and or Potter fire alarm systems. 5. Experience with FCI, Gamewell and Simplex fire alarm systems. Minimum Requirements: 1. Experience programming commercial intrusion detection and fire alarm systems. 2. Experience as a service technician in the security and fire systems field. 3. Industry related certifications and training. 3. Driver's license. Job Related Experience: 1. Four years experience related to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Licenses/Certification: 1. Drivers license 2. Industry related certifications.
