Position Summary
Davidson Day School is seeking a part-time After School Care Staff Member to join our Lower School team. This is a non-exempt, hourly position that reports directly to the After Care Coordinator.
The After School Care program operates from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate will be available and willing to commit to a minimum of 2–3 afternoons per week. The pay rate is $16.50 per hour.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and actively engage with children during indoor and outdoor play, snack time, and homework (as applicable)
- Maintain a professional, positive, and friendly rapport with parents
- Promptly communicate any issues or concerns to the After Care Coordinator
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the After Care Coordinator, Head of Lower School, or Head of School
- Adhere to all school policies, procedures, and safety regulations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of one year of experience working with young children, preferably in a classroom or group setting of seven or more students
- Strong communication skills with faculty, students, and parents
- Reliable transportation to and from campus
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and caring environment for students
- CPR certification prefered
