Working under the direction of the CFO, this role will have a strong background in medical billing and claims submissions and build and lead a team of Billing Specialists. This role ensures billing is accurate, consistent, and scalable.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Process medical claims and invoices in a timely manner.
- Handle collections and follow up on outstanding accounts.
- Send out invoices to client facilities in a timely manner.
- Reviews and appeals unpaid and denied claims.
- Obtains missing information from consumers and facilities.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Maintain accurate records of all billing transactions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service to client facilities regarding billing inquiries.
- Own billing processes from start to finish.
- Identify inefficiencies and recurring billing issues and drive improvements.
- Assist in hiring, training, and managing Billing Specialists as the team grows.
- Delegate daily billing tasks effectively and maintain consistency and accountability across the team.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3-5 years in billing or financial operations or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel). Proprietary software used.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting. Comply with GAAP and HIPAA guidelines.
- Ability to multi-task, interpreting on-going problems and suggesting possible solutions.
