David Mason Associates is looking for a Director of Marketing to join and lead our Marketing team! This role will direct and manage DMA’s marketing strategy and operations across the company. This position drives brand positioning, market visibility, and revenue enablement through integrated marketing programs; leads and assists in the preparation of proposals and presentations; manages marketing databases and assets; and elevates the firm’s presence across target markets and client segments. This role provides direct supervision to all Marketing Team Members and collaborates closely with technical, operations, and business development leaders.
Our Ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, has 8–12 years of progressive marketing experience, with 3–5 years in a leadership role within AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction). DMA’s preferred candidate lives within a commutable distance to our St. Louis, Missouri headquarters, or another one of DMA’s established offices, however, we are open to connecting with candidates nationwide.

Essential Duties
  • Lead, mentor, and foster a high-performing marketing team; evaluate resource availability, schedules, and technical requirements across multiple pursuits to assign personnel to specific projects or phases of work.
  • Develop and execute a multi-year marketing strategy aligned with firmwide goals and growth targets.
  • When requested, participate in firm leadership Strategic Operations Council meetings and provide market insights that inform decision-making.
  • Monitor and evaluate advertising budgets and usage; recommend optimizations to maximize ROI.
  • In partnership with technical staff and client relations team, support the evaluation of opportunities and help manage production of proposals, SOQs, prequalification’s, and presentation materials—ensuring compelling win themes, client-focused messaging, and compliance.
  • Oversee brand positioning, messaging, and identity across all channels and materials
  • Develop and maintain project profiles, resumes/personal history statements, case studies, thought leadership, and awards submissions.
  • Plan and manage conferences, sponsorships, trade shows, and industry association engagement.
  • Own website strategy, content, and performance; maintain website content and monitor activity.
  • Lead integrated digital programs (SEO/SEM, paid media, email marketing, social media) and editorial calendars that highlight expertise, projects, and culture.
  • Implement analytics and dashboards to measure campaign performance and inform data-driven decisions.
  • Maintain marketing database(s), including catalogs, key codes, and customer/prospect files; define and produce regularly scheduled reports from the marketing database.
  • Assist in analysis of present and potential markets for new or existing services, track competitors and client needs.
  • Provide leadership with proactive, actionable insights that support business development, forecasting, and service line strategy.
  • Interface with internal specialists and external vendors to obtain special marketing components as needed.
  • Collaborate with leadership and HR to support public-facing recruitment marketing, social media posts, employer brand initiatives, and internal communications.
  • Build tools and resources that enable staff to consistently communicate the firm’s mission, values, and differentiators.
  • Ensure adherence to branding, document control, data privacy, and proposal compliance standards.
  • Is proficient with InDesign, Adobe Creative Cloud, Bluebeam and other relevant AEC software.
  • Is familiar with various industry standard contract and submittal forms (AIA, EJCDC, SF330, other)
  • Follow and abide by the DMA employee and safety manuals
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary : $90,000 - $150,000
