Paraprofessional

Dassel-Cokato Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional for the Fall of 2026.

Current paraprofessional assignments may include Kindergarten Paraprofessional, Title Paraprofessional, Special Education Paraprofessional at Cokato Elementary.

Duties

• Assist the teachers in providing specific services to students receiving special education services.
• Support provided varies between working individually and in groups within the general education classrooms, common spaces and/or special education groups.
• Paraprofessionals are responsible for providing a safe and welcoming environment for students, building relationships, and working collaboratively with special and general education staff.
• Assists administrators, teachers and other staff to ensure proper behavior and safety of students
• Works with various students to ensure learning is maximized
• Provide supervision in the classroom, lunchroom, and outside
• Operates and maintains equipment related to job assignment

• Ability to remain calm and patient

Qualifications within 6 months of hire

• AA Degree or
• AS Degree or
• 60 semester credits of post secondary education (equivalent of 2 years) or
• Passing score on the paraprofessional assessment test (district will help support the training for this exam)
• Experience working with children with behavioral, academic, and/or social-emotional needs

Salary and Benefits

• Monday-Friday beginning Fall 2026
• Per Para Contract
