What are the responsibilities and job description for the 7th or 8th Grade Boys Basketball Coach position at Dassel-Cokato Public School District?
Duties
- Instruct athletes on fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for individual and team success
- Demonstrate and instruct behaviors that lead to socially acceptable character development, self discipline, confidence, and pride of accomplishments in student athletes
- Generate an attitude of fair play for adhering to the Minnesota State High School League “Code of Ethics”
- Be in regular attendance at all games and practice sessions
- Perform various duties as assigned by head coach or athletic director
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of all athletic policies and implementation by the entire staff on the program
- State and league regulations; implements the same consistency with all staff
- Knowledge of Minnesota State High School League
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program
- Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport
- Continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the sport
- Have strong interpersonal and organizational skills
