What are the responsibilities and job description for the Football Coach position at Dassel-Cokato Public School District?
Dassel-Cokato Schools is looking for coaching staff for various levels. Coaching opportunities may include 7th/8th grade, 9th grade, C-squad, Junior Varsity (JV), and Varsity levels.
Duties
- Instruct student-athletes in fundamental skills, game strategy, and physical training necessary for both individual and team success across all program levels, including 7th/8th grade, 9th grade, C-squad, JV, and Varsity
- Demonstrate and reinforce behaviors that promote positive character development, self-discipline, confidence, teamwork, and pride in accomplishment among student-athletes
- Foster an environment of sportsmanship and fair play in alignment with the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) “Code of Ethics”
- Maintain regular attendance at all practices, competitions, and team-related events
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Activities Director
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of athletic policies and consistent implementation across all levels of the program
- Understanding of state and league regulations, with the ability to ensure compliance among all coaching staff
- Knowledge of Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) rules and expectations
- Ability to organize, coordinate, and supervise a comprehensive sports program spanning multiple levels (7/8, 9, C-squad, JV, Varsity)
- Previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport preferred
- Commitment to ongoing learning of new theories, strategies, and coaching methods relevant to the sport
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

- Willingness to continue learning and applying new coaching techniques and best practices
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities
- CPR and AED Training Required
