Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and personable Bartender to join our team at Dantes & Island Time Bar & Grill on beautiful Sanibel Island. In this role, you will be the face of our establishment, creating memorable experiences for guests through exceptional service, expertly crafted drinks, and a lively atmosphere. Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of beverages accurately and efficiently, including cocktails, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic options.
• Engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner to enhance their overall experience.
• Manage POS systems such as Toast POS for order processing, billing, and cash handling with precision.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area in compliance with food safety standards and health regulations.
• Monitor guest intoxication levels responsibly and intervene as necessary to ensure safety.
• Restock bar supplies, garnishes, and beverages regularly to ensure smooth service flow.
• Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems and perform basic math calculations for change and totals.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff during events like banquets or catering to coordinate food and beverage service seamlessly.
• Uphold high standards of food handling, safety procedures, and responsible serving practices at all times.
• Assist in training new team members on proper serving techniques, POS operation, and customer service protocols.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a bartender in fine dining establishments, nightclubs, or banquet settings is highly preferred but we will train the right person.
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast POS is essential.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and responsible alcohol serving practices but we will train the right person.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly while managing multiple tables or bar stations efficiently.
• Demonstrated ability in time management and multitasking within fast-paced environments.
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math understanding for sales transactions, and accurate billing.
• Experience in food handling, brewing knowledge, catering support, or retail math is advantageous.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and special events as needed.
