Role Description
Dallas Country Club is looking to hire a highly skilled Sushi Roller to prepare sushi dishes in accordance with food health and safety regulations and restaurant standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Expertly cutting, slicing, and filleting different types of fish.
- Inspecting the quality of fruits, vegetables, and fish used to prepare sushi dishes
- Preparing various types of sushi dishes according to established guidelines on quality, portion size, presentation, and food safety.
- Prepare all types of sushi, including maki, nigiri and sashimi.
- Proper preparation of traditional Japanese sushi rice.
- Maintaining a clean work environment to prevent food contamination.
- Regularly taking inventory of food supplies and other products.
- Reporting any problems with kitchen equipment to the manager on duty.
- Sterilizing all utensils, instruments, and equipment used in sushi preparation before every use.
- Communicating with wait staff to ensure that special requests and food allergy considerations are met.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills, and knowledge:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree in culinary arts or American Culinary Federation certification is preferred.
- Proven experience working in upscale sushi restaurants.
- Attend Sushi academy or apprenticeship
- 6 years minimum experience.
- Must have current food handler’s certification as required by federal/state/local law.
- Sound knowledge of food safety regulations.

- Excellent time-management skills.
- Must be able to work a 40 hour work week, including weekends and holidays.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend,
stretch and twist or reach. - Honor all work-related requests made by a manager or supervisor, which may or may not be outside normal duties, to ensure member satisfaction.
- Self-Motivated.
- Good communicator.
- High volume experience recommended.
