HR Systems Specialist
We are currently seeking candidates for an HR Systems Specialist position with a leading financial institution in the Greater New Haven area. This role will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing HRIS functionality (Dayforce), supporting an upcoming Workday implementation, and overseeing HR data integrity, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
This is a 6 month contract opportunity, paying between $45–$55 per hour (depending on experience). This role is fully onsite, 5 days per week.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain and support the HRIS (Dayforce) system, ensuring data integrity, security, accurate configuration, and proper user access.
- Lead and assist with HR system upgrades, integrations, testing, and implementation of new modules.
- Collaborate with IT, HR leadership, and external vendors to design and implement streamlined processes and system automations.
- Support annual HR cycles, including salary and staffing budgets, performance reviews, and merit increases.
- Develop, analyze, and maintain key HR metrics and reports (e.g., headcount, turnover, DE&I) using Excel and/or BI tools.
- Configure and manage time-off accruals and tracking, ensuring compliance with payroll and tax regulations.
- Provide system support for core HR functions, including onboarding, offboarding, and employee data maintenance.
- Contribute to the upcoming Workday implementation by assisting with testing, data validation, and end-user training.
- 2–4 years of professional experience in HRIS administration or HR operations, ideally within a corporate HR environment.
- Strong, hands-on experience with Dayforce required; exposure to Workday highly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, dashboards, and automation tools.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain HR data accuracy, generate reports, and manage compliance documentation.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
- Proactive, adaptable, and detail-oriented, with a strong customer-service mindset and problem-solving approach.
