We are currently seeking candidates for a HR Operations Specialist position to join one of Connecticut’s top-tier banks. The HR Operations Specialist will manage core HR processes, maintain data integrity across systems, and develop reporting that enables smart business decisions. This position will partner closely with HR, Talent, and business leaders to drive operational excellence and enhance the employee experience. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys problem-solving, and is eager to improve systems and processes.
This is a 6 month contract opportunity that will pay $45-$55/hour (depending on experience) within a 40 hour workweek. This position is required to be onsite 5 days/week in their office.
Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee information across HR systems, including data entry, audits, and issue resolution.
Build, update, and analyze HR reports and dashboards (e.g., headcount, turnover, DEI metrics).
Provide operational support across core HR functions such as onboarding, offboarding, and employee life cycle changes.
Act as a primary point of contact for HRIS inquiries, user support, and process improvements.
Partner with cross-functional teams to implement new HR tools, system features, and workflow enhancements.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards; assist with audit preparation and responses.
Collaborate with HR and business leaders to streamline processes, improve data integrity, and enhance reporting capabilities.
Support change management initiatives related to new systems, tools, or policy updates.
Develop and maintain clear documentation for HR processes, procedures, and reporting standards.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
4 years of experience in HR Operations, HRIS, People Analytics, or related administrative/analytical HR roles.
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, data validation).
HR certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) is a plus. Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms (Workday strongly preferred).
Skilled in building and maintaining HR reports; experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Looker) a plus.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communicator with strong collaboration and cross-functional partnership abilities.
Customer-focused and service-minded, with a proactive approach to supporting stakeholders.
Experience supporting HR system implementations or optimizations.
Exposure to people analytics or dashboard automation.
