Position Summary
As a Senior Family Law Litigation Paralegal, you will play a critical role managing all aspects of family law litigation—from case inception through trial and post-judgment proceedings. You will work closely with attorneys handling a high-volume caseload across divorce, custody, support, alimony, property division, paternity, and domestic relations matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle litigation for complex family law matters, including high-conflict divorces and custody disputes
- Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery, and correspondence
- Prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, witness lists, and supporting materials
- Conduct legal research and factual investigations
- Coordinate document production, e-discovery, and case organization
- Handle all phases of discovery (interrogatories, requests for production/admission, depositions)
- Assist attorneys at trial, hearings, and mediation sessions
- Maintain case calendars, court deadlines, and docket tracking
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and experts
- Mentor and support junior paralegals and staff
- Bachelor’s degree required, Paralegal Certificate, MBA, JD, preferred
- 10 years of hands-on Family Law litigation experience in Massachusetts
- Strong knowledge of the Massachusetts Rules of Civil Procedure and Domestic Relations procedures
- Experience managing complex, high-asset, or high-conflict cases
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with case management systems and e-filing platforms
- Strong organizational, writing, and analytical capabilities
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative legal team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- High level of discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive matters
- Excellent client service and interpersonal skills
- Competitive base salary: $100,000 – $130,000
