Payroll Accountant - Boston - Hybrid
A growing global professional services firm is seeking a Payroll Accountant to join its expanding Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional with strong accounting skills to play a key role in supporting a rapidly scaling organization with both domestic and international operations.
What You'll Do
- Process and support U.S. payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely employee payments
- Prepare payroll-related journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Manage payroll accounting for compensation, bonuses, PTO, benefits, and related liabilities
- Reconcile payroll taxes and support quarter-end and year-end reporting activities
- Partner closely with HR, Finance, and external payroll providers to resolve payroll and benefits issues
- Maintain data integrity across payroll, HRIS, and ERP systems
- Support process improvements, internal controls, and audit readiness initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, 2 years of payroll accounting experience
- Experience with payroll, HRIS, ERP systems, and Excel
- Experience with multi-state payroll processing is a plus
- CPP certification or progress toward certification is highly desirable
