Assistant Controller
On-site, West of Boston
$100,000–$120,000 base bonus (up to 25%) strong benefits
We are working with a specialty finance and asset-based lending organization seeking an Assistant Controller to join their growing accounting team. This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the Controller locally and the Chief Accounting Officer across the broader organization.
What you’ll do
• Assist with weekly borrowing base certificates and related lender reporting
• Prepare monthly financial statements and bank reporting packages
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
• Participate in daily banking activity, including borrower fundings and bank advances
• Assist with field examinations (2x per year) and annual audit support
• Learn and work within loan reporting systems (ABLSoft)
• Support general loan administration and financial reporting functions
What we’re looking for
• CPA preferred (or 3–5 years public accounting experience strongly preferred)
• Strong financial reporting and full-cycle accounting background
• Exposure to banking, lending, credit, or financial services a plus
• Strong Excel skills required
• QuickBooks exposure a plus (not required)
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently and cross-functionally
• Excellent communication skills
