Assistant Controller - Real Estate Debt Funds
Dallas, Texas
A leading alternative investment platform located in Dallas, Texas is seeking an Assistant Controller to support accounting, reporting, and operations for closed-end investment funds. This role partners closely with senior finance leadership and offers exposure to complex fund structures, valuations, investor reporting, and fund operations.
Compensation: $125,000-180,000
Key Responsibilities:
- Review fund financial statements, investor reporting, capital calls, and distributions prepared by third-party administrators
- Oversee accounting and reporting for closed-end private investment funds
- Support management fee, carry, waterfall calculations, and quarterly valuation processes
- Assist with liquidity management, credit facility activity, and fund-level financing
- Coordinate annual audits and review audit workpapers
- Partner with investment, operations, and investor relations teams on reporting and process improvements
- Support new fund launches and strategic initiatives
Qualifications:
- 8–12 years of accounting experience within alternative investments
- Experience with private credit, real estate, private equity, or other private funds
- Strong understanding of fund accounting, NAV review, financial reporting, and complex fund structures
- Experience working with third-party fund administrators and auditors
- Advanced Excel skills; CPA preferred
