ILUS - Sr. Project Engineer II

Candidate w ill be responsible for engineering of material handling systems.  Each system is custom designed per client based on the optimal solution.  This requires a team effort of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, controls, software, and project management. The team will develop and implement a design concept that satisfies the customer’s requirement for safety, functionality, reliability, throughput, and expense.

Responsibilities

• Designing/enhancing conveyor systems as well as various automated and semi-automated material handling systems; may lead on larger projects or an entire project program
• Review of product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements and specifications
• Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems
• Prepares/Reviews approval, permit, and installation drawings using AutoCAD
• Obtains material and product quotes from vendors and issues purchase orders
• Helps monitor the project schedule, engineering time, and material costs
• Works with other disciplines on the project team to make sure the engineered solution and all equipment fit within system confines and constraints
• Travels up to 20% to measure buildings, inventory equipment, commission systems, and interface with customers
• Participates in continuous improvement projects
• Resolves engineering issues by working with customers, vendors and other team members
  
  

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical or Industrial , or equivalent e xperience
• Minimum of 8 years of material handling related experience
  
  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

• AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks proficiency
• Microsoft Office skills – Word, Excel, Power Point, and Project.
• Ability to lead multiple teams and accomplish project goals effectively
• Ability to handle multiple project assignments and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
• In-depth knowledge of the material handling business
• Ability to interface effectively with internal and external customers, vendors, consulting engineers, architects, and installers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
• Team-oriented and collaborative
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Ability to learn new technology
