Job Description
The Collateral Processing Coordinator is responsible for facilitating, processing, and tracking appraisal and valuation-related activities to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant collateral evaluations. This role involves close coordination with internal lending teams, third-party appraisers, and external vendors while delivering a high standard of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor communication between internal production staff, appraisers, and third-party providers
- Assist with appraiser communications by providing required appraisal documentation and exhibits
- Order, generate, and process Automated Valuation Models (AVMs) and Property Data Reports
- Order, track, and monitor FHA/HUD case numbers for approval
- Assign VA case numbers and coordinate VA appraisal ordering
- Prepare, monitor, and close repair inspections and post-closing escrow inspections
- Verify appraiser eligibility against investor ineligible lists
- Monitor appraiser performance and provide feedback related to service-level standards
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating a high level of professionalism and service
- Perform work in accordance with established company policies, procedures, information security standards, and applicable state and federal regulations
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including banking, lending, and data protection standards
- Maintain prompt and reliable attendance
- Complete additional duties as assigned
Required
- Strong general office and administrative skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform efficiently under deadlines while maintaining professionalism
- High attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency using computers, keyboards, mice, telephones, and standard office equipment
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to walk, reach with hands and arms, and perform routine office movements as needed
- Ability to read detailed documents and view computer screens for prolonged periods
- Prior experience with appraisal processing or collateral services
- Experience supporting residential mortgage collateral or valuation workflows
- Familiarity with FHA, VA, and investor appraisal requirements
- Experience working within a regulated financial or lending environment
