About The Role
We are seeking an Aircraft Buyer to join our dynamic Supply Chain team. In this highly visible role, you are responsible for purchasing and communicating status of open issues with recommendations to the appropriate departments. You will manage demand requirements for manufacturing and engineering, ensuring timely procurement and inventory alignment in a Lean/JIT environment. Buyers are key users within the MRP system purchasing/planning modules including testing, documentation, and implementation of new processes. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers to keep production moving smoothly while maintaining compliance with FAA regulations and Kodiak quality standards.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities (other Duties As Assigned)
- Manages demand requirements such as forecasts, inventory planning, ensuring allocations for builds are coordinated and parts delivered on time from outside suppliers.
- Provides communication for material availability and escalation of material issues to appropriate cross-functional departments.
- Creates and maintains purchase orders to ensure shipment as required including late order expedites, pushing out overstock orders and updates due to engineering changes.
- Negotiates purchase order flow changes due to schedule demand updates.
- Coordinate and lead supplier meetings covering topics such as order review, non-conformances, engineering reviews and other topics as required.
- Work within documented procurement/planning system that complies with purchasing procedures and guidelines.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure timely availability of materials to support production while avoiding excess stock.
- Monitor and action non-conformances for outside vendors working closely with Quality department.
- Establish strong cross-functional understanding that will ensure good operating policies and procedures, in cost accounting, finance, manufacturing, engineering, quality and other areas as applicable.
- Understand and work within FAA regulations to maintain a flow of materials while minimizing the assets needed to support production Ensure compliance with Kodiak quality system Apply Lean Manufacturing processes and procedures.
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
- 5-7 years’ minimum experience in a manufacturing, purchasing and logistics environment.
- Membership in APIC’s and or NAPM would be a plus or certificates in these professional areas.
- MRP modules (prefer 5-7 years) Inventory management, Quality and Purchasing a must. Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint a must.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business documents-ability to read engineering prints/drawings.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, VP’s, suppliers, clients, internal customers, and the general public.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exhibit good time management skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and complete complex tasks under deadlines.
- Ability to work overtime to support the production schedule.
- Working knowledge of E10 preferred.

- Salary Range: $55k– $75K based on experience and qualifications.

Salary : $55,000 - $75,000
