Position Summary📒:
A leading California law firm with a strong focus on labor, employment, and education law, proudly represents public agencies throughout the state is presently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Litigation Legal Assistant to join their Sacramento, CA office. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality legal work in a collaborative and professional environment.
Responsibilities and Duties🗝:
- Prepare, format, edit, and proofread all legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court rules and filing deadlines.
- Generate Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities in accordance with the Bluebook and the California Style Manual.
- Prepares and finalizes all exhibits for service and filing, ensuring compliance with all applicable court rules.
- File and serve documents in federal and state courts (including e-filing).
- Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling court appearances, depositions, client meetings, and deadlines.
- Handle correspondence with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other parties as needed.
- Coordinate meetings, appointments, conferences and travel arrangements.
- Manage and organize case files within the firm’s document management system, ensuring they are accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible.
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, trial binders, and witness lists.
- Conduct legal research regarding court rules and deadlines.
Qualifications📢:
- Minimum of 2.5-3 years of legal assistant experience with a focus on litigation.
- Proficiency in legal terminology, litigation procedures, and court rules, with advanced knowledge of both state and federal courts.
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Experienced with legal software and e-filing systems (e.g., PACER, OneLegal).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated discretion in handling confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in labor and employment law is a plus.
- Knowledge of PERB and OAH procedures.
Annual Compensation 💵/Salary💰 & Benefits:
