Production Planner

We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Planner to join our team in Florence, NJ! The Production Planner is vital in coordinating production schedules and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality components that meet strict military standards.
Essential Functions:
Tracks the progress of manufactured products through the shop.
- Interfaces with all departments to assure that material, parts, or services purchased by DCF are being delivered on-time and consistent with production schedules.
- Interfaces with all departments in the coordination and resolution of shop workstation loading conflicts, along with the location and moving of needed material, parts and tooling as required.
- Coordinates movement of parts and materials into and out of storage.
- Interfaces with production supervisors and manufacturing engineers relative to special handling, availability of materials, changes in promised dates, etc.
- Anticipates potential schedule delays and takes action to avoid occurrence.
- Expedites materials, parts, and tooling, in order to maintain production schedules.
- Reviews travelers for completeness and identifies open operations.
- Reviews bills of material and "classifies" the BOM to indicate if stock material is available or whether material must be purchased as raw material or finished stock.
- Assists in "make or buy" decisions.
- Distributes and maintains controlled shop documents, such as drawings and procedures.
- Performs inventory transactions in the ERP system, such as issuing parts to jobs, closing jobs, etc.
- Communicates priorities to production personnel to assist in manpower allocation.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate Degree in Business or an Engineering field, or equivalent experience. Completion of an apprenticeship program desirable.
Experience: 0-2 years of experience in a similar manufacturing environment required. Four to six years of experience desired.
Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills are required. Working knowledge of ERP Systems and Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook are required.
Other Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of manufacturing resources similar to those of the company.
- Must be capable of handling assignments for major new product type orders with minimal supervision.
- Must possess the ability to correctly analyze actual and potential Production Control problems and take corrective action.
- Must be tactful in interaction with internal disciplines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $52,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
