Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of licensed Professional Engineers, Senior Engineers and Project Managers, this candidate will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Construction management and inspection support associated with water supply, distribution, and planning projects
- Interfacing with contractors during construction to review plan drawings and provide assistance in overcoming drawings/site conflicts to keep projects progressing.
- Client interaction and teamwork with design engineers and other disciplines
- Running site meetings with Owners and Contractors.
- Reviewing completed work conforms to the approved drawings and submittals.
- Coordinating permitting efforts with various local regulatory agencies, including local and State health departments and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC)
- NICET Level II Certification or higher
- A bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering or closely related discipline is preferred
- 5 years of experience
- Willingness and ability to complete field work. This can involve climbing elevated structures, descending into excavations, entering confined spaces and being in the vicinity of heavy construction equipment and vehicles
- Familiarity with construction on NYSDOT roads is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand contract drawings and specifications
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD a plus
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
