NICET Certified Construction Inspector

Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of licensed Professional Engineers, Senior Engineers and Project Managers, this candidate will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

• Construction management and inspection support associated with water supply, distribution, and planning projects
• Interfacing with contractors during construction to review plan drawings and provide assistance in overcoming drawings/site conflicts to keep projects progressing.
• Client interaction and teamwork with design engineers and other disciplines
• Running site meetings with Owners and Contractors.
• Reviewing completed work conforms to the approved drawings and submittals.
• Coordinating permitting efforts with various local regulatory agencies, including local and State health departments and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC)
  
  

Qualifications:

• NICET Level II Certification or higher
• A bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering or closely related discipline is preferred
• 5 years of experience
• Willingness and ability to complete field work. This can involve climbing elevated structures, descending into excavations, entering confined spaces and being in the vicinity of heavy construction equipment and vehicles
• Familiarity with construction on NYSDOT roads is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand contract drawings and specifications
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD a plus
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

$100,000-$150,000
