Accountant / Financial Controller Job Description
The Accountant / Financial Controller (AH) is the person that delivers information to the President of Real Estate (PR) that PR uses to make the business decisions for D’Argent Companies (DAD). Therefore, the AH must ensure that all information is always accurate and up to date. The AH responsibilities cannot be underestimated because the direction of DAD is predicated on the information that the AH provides.
Reports to:
The Accountant reports the President of Real Estate and President of Construction
Job Duties:
The duties of the AH are to collect the numbers and create or modify the processes to obtain the most accurate numbers in the most efficient manner.
General Duties:
· Overseeing the use of all accounting software and processes – Quickbooks Desktop, Quickbooks Online and Yardi
· Modify or create all processes for collecting the numerical information
· Process all day to day accounting – Taxes, Insurance, budgeting, investments, banking, cash flow and reporting.
· Process all of Payroll
o Tax payments to all entities
o Prepare and process all payroll reporting to all Tax entities
o Take care of all employee payroll issues
· Create monthly reports for the President of Real Estate
o AHGE monthly close out reports
o Monthly Cash Flow excel sheets
o Monthly Bank reports
o Ensure that all budgets are being maintained
· Quarterly reports for the President of Real Estate
o Update the Financial History excel sheet
o Update the investor reports
· Year End reports for the President of Real Estate
o Year End Financial History excel sheet
o Payroll Reports
o Vendor reports
o Prepare Year Taxes
o Create new year budgets
· Review and monitor all DAD insurances ensuring that DAD is properly ensured without paying for insurances that are not needed
o All insurances must have their respective costs clearly accessible and reconcilable.
o Ensuring that insurance costs are properly allocated to the proper accounts
· File all paper as it pertains to Accounting
o Payroll Reports
o Vendor records, especially Vendor certificates
o Constructions Contracts and payment reports
o Banking loans and periodic reports
· Ensure the Quality of all DAD accounting
· Ensuring that all of DAD are following the DAD accounting processes and DAD values.
· Ensuring that all of DAD are held accountable for their actions that affect accounting issues
· Ensure filing systems are maintained and current
· Establish procedures for record keeping
· Monitor record keeping
· Ensure security and confidentiality of data
· Maintain a safe and secure working environment
· Handle customer inquiries and complaints as they pertain to accounting
Abilities:
AH must also learn and use the following:
· DAD’s Quick Base portal.
· DAD Server filing system.
o Naming protocol
o Folder Structure
o Sever levels
· Learn the DAD Style Set and Themes for Word and Excel
· Must be proficient in the use of Excel
o Know how to work with Data. You need to be able to use pivot tables, sorting, tables, filters, data functions such as RIGHT, LEFT, TRIM, MATCH, LOOKUPS, INDEX, etc.…
o Know the basics of financial calculations, such as NPV, PMT, IRR, XIRR, etc.…
· Be fully able to us DAD office equipment such as printers, remote access, server, DAD Wi-Fi, etc. telephones, remote access laptops, copiers, printers, etc.
Procedures:
These procedures will be modified as needed. It is the responsibility of AH is to be fully aware of procedure changes
· Adheres to the DAD way
· Will strictly follow company procedures
· Be fully able to use of Outlook in the DAD way, particularly task and calendar features
· Be able to properly use DAD Microsoft Word Branding themes and styles in a such a way to be able to teach others
· Be willing to learn more of DAD’s software to better assist all of DAD
· Be fully able to use all office tools including, telephones, remote access laptops, copiers, faxes, printers, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
