Key Responsibilities
Enterprise EHS & Process Safety Governance
Enterprise EHS & Process Safety Governance
- Act as the corporate authority for EHS and Process Safety across all operations
- Establish enterprise standards, governance frameworks, and escalation protocols for high-risk environments
- Lead EHS and Process Safety steering committees and provide executive-level reporting on risk, trends, and performance
- Exercise stop-work authority in unsafe or non-compliant conditions
- Own and continuously improve enterprise systems aligned with:
- ISO 14001 (Environmental)
- ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety)
- OSHA PSM (29 CFR 1910.119)
- Standardize processes across sites including:
- Hazard identification and risk assessments (HIRA/JHA)
- Process Hazard Analysis (PHA/HAZOP, What-If, FMEA)
- Management of Change (MOC)
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis
- Ensure audit readiness and consistency across all locations
- Provide strategic oversight of PSM programs in high-risk and chemical environments
- Oversee key elements including:
- PHA / HAZOP execution
- Mechanical integrity and asset reliability
- Emergency response planning
- Safety training and competency
- Partner with Engineering and Operations to embed safety into:
- New processes and automation
- Equipment design and upgrades
- Lead enterprise environmental programs including:
- Chemical lifecycle management
- Waste management and regulatory compliance
- Air emissions and wastewater programs
- Spill prevention and emergency response
- Drive ESG initiatives, sustainability reporting, and environmental performance improvements
- Oversee safety programs in advanced manufacturing settings, including:
- Industrial hygiene and exposure monitoring
- Hazard communication (GHS)
- Contractor safety
- Cleanroom and ergonomic risks
- Ensure proper PPE, engineering controls, and safe work practices
- Support capital planning, facility design, and engineering initiatives
- Lead EHS due diligence for M&A, expansions, and new site development
- Ensure safe startup and operational readiness for new processes and facilities
- Define and track key performance indicators:
- TRIR, DART, severity rates
- Process safety events and near-misses
- Environmental compliance metrics
- Lead audits and ensure timely closure of corrective actions
- Use data analytics to drive proactive risk reduction
