This role also provides guidance, leadership, and training to other CMM Inspectors to support consistent inspection practices and quality performance.

Responsibilities
- Read and interpret aerospace manufacturing drawings, including tolerances, customer specifications, and technical requirements.
- Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to perform dimensional inspections of manufactured components.
- Perform manual and automated inspections using CMM equipment and related measurement tools.
- Analyze and interpret CMM inspection results to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and electronic models.
- Create, edit, and maintain CMM inspection programs in both online and offline environments.
- Inspect parts using a variety of manual inspection equipment, including PCMs, height gauges, dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, protractors, profilometers, and bore gauges to determine product acceptance or rejection based on engineering requirements.
- Document inspection results and product acceptance or rejection on manufacturing orders, process rejection documentation as required, and perform relevant MRP system transactions.
- Perform Rockwell hardness testing and Eddy Current testing to verify material and product compliance.
- Apply statistical sampling methods to support inspection and quality control processes.
- Conduct audits of shop inspection procedures and processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Review and verify outside processing certifications, including nondestructive testing (NDT), chemical processing, and finishing, and inspect final product appearance for compliance with engineering specifications.
- Perform and complete First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102 and company quality requirements.
- Follow all established workplace safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- A minimum of 10 years hands-on inspection experience operating a CMM in a regulated industry.
- Three to five years (recent) inspection experience operating a CMM in the aerospace industry.
- Certification in Advanced Level CAD systems (CATIA and AutoCAD).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to perform all QA Inspector 3 Duties and Responsibilities (see QA Inspector 3 job description).
- Trade school or college courses in related fields (e.g., CMM, blueprint reading, GD&T).
