Inspection Documentation Specialist

Job Description:The Inspection Documentation Specialist will review and update in-process and final assembly inspection instructions to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance with manufacturing process instructions, blueprints, process specifications, and customer requirements.This role supports inspection processes for precision devices such as night vision goggles and laser aiming systems.Requirement/Must Have:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field.2–3 years of industry experience in a technical role.Strong technical writing skills.Experience with inspection methodologies, hand tooling, and visual inspections.Ability to work independently.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Strong attention to detail.Ability to reprioritize and meet deadlines.Experience:Reviewing and evaluating inspection instructions.Working with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and engineering.Using data from field failures, customer feedback, and nonconformances to improve documentation.Responsibilities:Review existing in-process and final assembly inspection instructions for clarity and accuracy.Ensure alignment of inspection instructions with manufacturing processes, blueprints, and specifications.Evaluate instructions using quality data from failures and testing.Identify and implement updates to improve inspection effectiveness.Collaborate with technicians, inspectors, and engineers from multiple disciplines.Maintain records of inspection instructions and revisions.Should Have:Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements.Familiarity with MIL-STD-810.Skills:Technical writing.Inspection methodology.Use of hand tools.Visual inspection.Qualification and Education:Bachelor’s Degree with 2–3 years of relevant technical experience.Certifications such as CQE, Technical Writing Certification, or knowledge of GD&T (preferred but not required).Knowledge of CMM or Keyence inspection systems (preferred).
