Sr. Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Middletown, CT (Onsite)
Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizenship required due to ITAR restrictions
Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000
Position Overview
We are seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer with an expert understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes including welding, stamping, casting, sheet metal fabrication, and machining. This role requires proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) standards. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in driving process improvements that ensure high-quality, cost-effective production.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute projects related to aerospace component engineering and manufacturing for both new and existing parts and assemblies.
- Lead conceptual and applied engineering activities relating to materials, coatings, and processes used to build, apply, or shape aerospace components.
- Develop and improve production processes, techniques, work instructions, and process planning with thorough documentation.
- Create and maintain engineering work instructions, including specifications, engineering changes, quality standards, process controls, and tooling requirements.
- Lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and complexity.
- Present technical and business solutions to leadership and influence peers to adopt new approaches.
- Communicate complex technical messages and negotiate internally and externally with partners, vendors, or customers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace preferred).
- Expert knowledge of welding, stamping, casting, sheet metal, and machining processes.
- Strong understanding of GD&T standards with proven ability to interpret detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Experience creating and managing engineering documentation, specifications, and process controls.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and projects.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
