Cyient, Inc. is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer with a strong background in LNG projects, Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), and E-House design and integration for high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems. This role will support engineering design, technical leadership, and project execution for complex electrical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of electrical power distribution systems for LNG and industrial energy projects.
- Provide engineering design and technical leadership for E-House applications—including layout, equipment integration (e.g., switchgear, VSDs, MCCs), and interfaces.
- Develop and review engineering documents such as single-line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, and equipment specifications.
- Design and specify Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) for large motors and compressor applications.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, IEC, API, and client-specific codes and standards.
- Review and approve vendor packages, including power system components and prefabricated E-House solutions.
- Interface with mechanical, structural, controls, and process teams to ensure coordinated electrical designs.
- Support procurement, construction, and commissioning phases with technical guidance and field support as needed.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal design reviews and quality assurance processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on LNG, oil & gas, or power generation projects.
- Strong experience with design and integration of E-Houses for housing electrical systems such as switchgear, VSDs, relays, UPS, and communication panels.
- Deep understanding of Variable Speed Drives (VFD/VSD) for rotating equipment and process systems.
- Proficiency in electrical system modeling and tools such as ETAP, SKM, or similar.
- Strong technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
- Familiar with arc flash studies, load flow, and protective coordination.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with EPCs or OEMs such as Siemens, ABB, or GE.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for site support, inspections, or FATs.
- Currently located in Houston, TX, or open to relocation.
