Strategic Sourcing Manager

A growing industrial organization is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead direct material procurement, supplier strategy, and cost improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for driving sourcing excellence, strengthening supplier partnerships, reducing risk, and supporting business growth through strategic procurement practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for direct materials and production-related commodities.
• Lead supplier negotiations, competitive bids, and cost reduction initiatives.
• Analyze market conditions, pricing trends, and supply risks to support sourcing decisions.
• Manage supplier performance, contracts, and commercial agreements.
• Identify alternative sources and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity.
• Partner with operations, engineering, finance, and other stakeholders on strategic procurement projects.
• Drive supplier development, quality improvement, and operational performance initiatives.
• Support compliance, sustainability, and supplier qualification programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Chemistry, or related discipline.
• 4 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or category management.
• Experience negotiating supplier agreements and managing strategic spend.
• Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
• ERP experience preferred; SAP familiarity is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Experience

• Direct materials sourcing within a manufacturing environment.
• Supplier relationship management and performance improvement.
• Strategic sourcing, category management, and contract negotiations.
• Supply chain risk management and business continuity planning.
