Overview
The Technical Engineer plays a key role across engineering, production, and field service. This position ensures that complex equipment is designed, built, installed, and commissioned to meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and reliability. You'll also contribute heavily to R&D initiatives and provide technical expertise to internal teams and customers. Travel required: approximately 15-25%. Reports to: Director of Technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, testing, and installation of hydraulic press brakes, presses, and equipment upgrades.
- Partner with R&D to prototype and validate new technologies and product enhancements.
- Provide technical support to customers, service teams, production, and sales, including troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Create and maintain technical documentation such as schematics, manuals, test procedures, and service instructions.
- Support equipment installations, commissioning, and service-both onsite and remote.
- Identify and implement product improvements to boost safety, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
- Develop and release engineering BOMs.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, or Industrial Engineering.
- 1 years of engineering or technical support experience in capital equipment, heavy machinery, or manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks; able to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of electrical controls and equipment functionality.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams and with customers.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in product development, prototyping, and testing.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with PLC, HMI, and automation platforms.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley RSLogix and FactoryTalk.
- Ability to interface PLCs, HMIs, and drives (VFD and servo).
- Programming experience (Visual Basic, C , etc.) is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

$60,000-$85,000
