Job Title: Superintendent

Salary Rate: $100,000 - $150,000
A privately held mechanical engineering and construction firm is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee field operations for complex mechanical, HVAC, and process-piping projects. This role is responsible for day-to-day site leadership, workforce coordination, installation quality, and safety compliance across industrial, advanced manufacturing, life sciences, and mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily field operations, directing crews and subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality installation of mechanical, HVAC, and process-piping systems.
- Enforce all safety standards, conduct daily briefings, and maintain a compliant, hazard-free jobsite.
- Ensure installation quality, reviewing drawings, inspecting work, and resolving field issues quickly.
- Coordinate schedules and resources, aligning manpower, materials, and equipment with project needs.
- Communicate with project management, providing daily updates on progress, risks, and material requirements.
- Manage site logistics, including deliveries, staging, tool control, and equipment use.
- Maintain field documentation, including daily reports, timekeeping, and records supporting billing and change events.
Qualifications
- 3 years of field experience in mechanical construction, HVAC piping, process piping, or industrial installation.
- Demonstrated success supervising crews on complex, fast-paced projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, industrial environments, and controlled-condition facilities.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and specifications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and professional conduct.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
