Position Overview
We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive commercial growth in our robotics division. This is a tremendous opportunity for a recent engineering graduate with some form of sales experience.
The role combines technical understanding of robotics and engineering, and strong relationship-building to identify market opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, and close deals. The ideal candidate will translate complex robotics capabilities into clear customer value, lead commercial engagements from lead generation through contract negotiation, and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure solutions meet client needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a business development strategy to grow revenue and market share for robotics products and solutions.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new sales opportunities across target industries; build and maintain a robust sales pipeline.
- Lead client-facing engagements including discovery sessions, technical discussions, solution proposals, presentations, and contract negotiations.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and manufacturing teams to align customer requirements with technical capabilities, ensuring proposals reflect feasible specifications and blueprints.
- Prepare clear RFQs, specifications, and commercial proposals; manage sample requests and coordinate prototype or sample delivery with suppliers and manufacturing.
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with OEMs, integrators, suppliers, and channel partners to expand reach and accelerate time-to-market.
- Track market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform product roadmap and go-to-market initiatives for humanoid and other robotic platforms.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client presentations to generate leads and showcase capabilities.
- Achieve sales targets and KPIs, maintain accurate CRM records, and report on forecast, pipeline, and performance metrics to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical), or related discipline.
- 1 years of experience in sales or business development. Bonus points if this is within robotics, automation, or advanced manufacturing.
- Strong technical understanding of robotics systems and engineering concepts; ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and mechanical designs preferred.
- Demonstrated sales skills including lead generation, negotiation, RFQ response, proposal generation.
- Experience working with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and managing sample/prototype processes a nice to have.
- Excellent client-facing skills with strong verbal and written communication and presentation abilities.
- Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with R&D, engineering, product management, and operations.
- Willingness to travel as required for client meetings, industry events, and supplier visits. Expected annual travel of 30%. Initial training would take place at manufacturing facility in China.
