We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) to lead the design and delivery of building electrical systems for institutional, commercial, and specialized facilities. This role is responsible for providing technical leadership, overseeing design quality, mentoring junior engineers and designers, and serving as Engineer of Record on assigned projects.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in consulting engineering, is comfortable owning electrical design from concept through construction, and enjoys collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams in a professional MEP environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesServe as Engineer of Record for electrical systems on assigned projects
Lead electrical design efforts including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, grounding, and low-voltage systems
Develop and review electrical calculations, load studies, and system selections in accordance with NEC and applicable standards
Provide technical oversight and review of drawings produced by Designers and EITs
Coordinate design intent with architects, mechanical engineers, plumbing engineers, and specialty consultants
Participate in schematic design, design development, and construction document phases
Stamp and seal electrical drawings as required
Support construction administration including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and addressing field issues
Mentor and support the development of junior engineers and designers
QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) license required (Texas or ability to obtain Texas licensure)
Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Experience working in an MEP consulting engineering environment
Strong knowledge of:
- Commercial and institutional electrical systems
- NEC and applicable building codes
- Lighting systems, power distribution, emergency power, and grounding
- Fire alarm and basic low-voltage systems
Experience with K-12, higher education, office, or religious facilities strongly preferred
Data center or mission-critical project experience is a plus, not required
Working familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD; hands-on production not required but ability to review models and drawings is essential
