An established AM Law 200 firm with over 75 years in practice is seeking a Senior Business Litigation Attorney with 7-8 years of State and Federal commercial litigation experience to join its team in San Diego. This role offers substantial client contact, complex case work, and strong opportunities for practice development and advancement. The attorney will handle corporate and commercial disputes, M&A litigation, entity governance issues, contract matters, real estate and land use disputes, and bankruptcy litigation. Along with drafting discovery, briefs, settlement agreements, and client reports. Ideal candidates have taken and defended depositions, argued minor motions, supported trial preparation, and managed regular court appearances. Moot court, law review, or judicial clerkship experience is preferred.
Offer
Salary range: $240,000-$290,000 depending on experience, with total potential compensation up to $350,000 annually
1850 billable hour requirement with premium collections bonus (typically 90-95 percent collections rate)
10 percent origination bonus
Subjective bonus
401(k) plan available (profit sharing excluded for attorneys)
Full benefits including an HMO plan at no charge
Hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite for most roles
Qualifications
7-8 years of business, corporate, and commercial litigation experience
Experience drafting motions, discovery, briefs, and correspondence
Experience taking and defending depositions and appearing in court
Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
California Bar in good standing
Excellent academic credentials
Responsibilities
Manage a litigation caseload involving commercial, corporate, and real estate disputes
Draft discovery, motions, trial briefs, and settlement agreements
Appear in court for routine motions and hearings
Take and defend depositions
Assist with trial preparation and strategy
Communicate directly with clients and prepare status reports
Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex litigation matters
