Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Scheduler to develop, maintain, and optimize project schedules for construction and engineering programs. The Project Scheduler will ensure schedules are accurate, contract-compliant, and integrated with project controls to support on-time delivery. This role focuses on schedule development, monitoring, analysis of impacts and changes, and coordination with project teams and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed CPM schedules (baseline and updates) for projects using industry-standard tools and methods.
- Prepare, submit and manage schedule submissions to clients and stakeholders in accordance with contract requirements and review cycles.
- Perform schedule impact analysis and delay/acceleration assessments to quantify effects of changes and events on project timelines.
- Review contractor schedules, evaluate contractor change orders for schedule and logic impacts, and coordinate responses and negotiations as required.
- Implement QA/QC processes for schedules to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to company standards and contractual obligations.
- Monitor project progress, update schedules with actuals, identify critical path changes, and forecast completion dates and milestones.
- Collaborate with project managers, planners, cost control, procurement and field teams to integrate schedule, cost and resource information.
- Prepare clear, concise schedule reports and presentations for project leadership, clients and stakeholders.
- Support schedule negotiations and dispute resolution by providing schedule-based scenarios, analysis and documentation.
- Maintain records and document control for schedule revisions, assumptions, constraints and risk registers.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Project Scheduler supporting construction or engineering projects (exact experience may vary by role level).
- Demonstrated proficiency with scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project; strong familiarity with CPM methodologies.
- Proven experience preparing schedule submissions, performing schedule impact analysis, and reviewing contractor schedules and change orders (nice to have).
- Experience with QA/QC of schedules and schedule-driven reporting (nice to have).
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex schedule logic and contractual requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present technical schedule information to non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with contract clauses related to time, delays and extensions, and experience supporting schedule negotiations and claims (nice to have).
- Professional certifications such as PSP (Schedule Professional) or PMI-SP are a plus.
- Ability to work in fast-paced project environments, prioritize competing tasks, and uphold high standards of schedule integrity.
