This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and support business growth through client engagement and project development.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity takeoffs and material takeoffs for tendering and bid preparation (BOQ, unit rates, lump sum).

- Manage procurement, purchase orders, and the timely delivery of long-lead items; coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Oversee subcontractor selection, performance monitoring and coordination to ensure scope, quality and schedule adherence.
- Coordinate BIM, shop drawings, RFIs and clash detection workflows with Revit, Navisworks and 3D coordination teams.
- Provide site management oversight as required: progress monitoring, QA/QC, safety management and permitting coordination.
- Implement risk management processes: identify risks, maintain risk registers, and track mitigation plans.
- Maintain project documentation and communication via Procore (or equivalent), Bluebeam and standard document control practices.
- Produce regular cost and progress reports for stakeholders, including variance analysis and recommended corrective actions.
- Mentor and coordinate with estimators, schedulers and project engineers to ensure continuity from estimating through construction.
- Apply lean construction principles to improve productivity, reduce waste and optimize on-site workflows.
Qualifications
- Would prefer a bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years combined experience in construction estimating and project management (commercial, industrial or infrastructure projects preferred).
- Proven experience with Estimating Software such as Sage Estimating, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff and BOQ preparation tools.
- Strong quantity takeoff and material takeoff skills and familiarity with Bill of Quantities (BOQ) development.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel for cost models, templates and reporting.
- Proficiency with scheduling tools: Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6; experience creating CPM schedules and resource loading.
- Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD and BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks) for drawing review, RFIs and coordination.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, subcontractor management and contract negotiation.
- Solid knowledge of cost estimating, budgeting, cost control, cost forecasting and Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Experience in change order management, claims, tendering and bid preparation processes.
- Working knowledge of QA/QC, safety management, permitting processes and site supervision.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills with the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.
