Position Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Patent Associate with a strong background in biotechnology and life sciences. The ideal candidate will support our legal team in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, ensuring the protection of innovative technologies and research in the biotechnology field.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the biotechnology sector.
- Conduct due diligence and analyze intellectual property portfolios.
- Collaborate with scientists and researchers to understand and evaluate inventions.
- Draft patent claims, specifications, and other legal documents.
- Participate in interparty matters and support litigation as necessary.
- Stay updated on changes in patent laws and practices, particularly with respect to the USPTO.
- Provide strategic advice on patentability, freedom to operate, and IP strategies.
- Jurisdictional license to practice law (preferably in the relevant jurisdiction), admission to USPTO
- Advanced degree in life sciences, biotechnology, or a related field (Ph D preferred).
- 3-6 years experience in patent preparation and prosecution, particularly in the biotechnology area.
- Strong knowledge of intellectual property laws and USPTO regulations.
- Proficient in conducting due diligence and IP analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects.

Salary : $230,000 - $320,000
