Position: Mechanical Estimator

Position Overview

The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for providing accurate and detailed cost estimates for mechanical components and systems in construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical trades and construction processes, as well as excellent analytical and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and be able to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project scope and identify potential mechanical costs
• Collaborate with project managers and vendors to gather information and obtain quotes for mechanical materials and equipment
• Create detailed cost estimates for mechanical components and systems, including labor, materials, and equipment
• Analyze and compare cost estimates to determine the most cost-effective solutions
• Prepare and present cost estimates to clients and management
• Maintain accurate and organized records of all cost estimates
• Provide support to project teams during the bidding process
• Identify potential cost savings and value engineering opportunities
• Continuously monitor and update cost databases and pricing models
  
  

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in mechanical estimating in the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of mechanical trades and construction processes
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other estimating software
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
• Knowledge of electrical trades is a plus
