Interior Superintendent
Position Overview
Experienced Interior Superintendent to lead interior construction efforts on multi-family and high-rise projects. Responsible for managing Division 9 finishes and interior build-outs from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring schedules, budgets, quality, and safety standards are met. Acts as the on-site leader coordinating trades, subcontractors, MEP teams, and client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day on-site management of interior construction activities for multi-family and high-rise projects, focusing on Division 9 finishes and interior build-outs.
- Develop, maintain, and drive project schedules; coordinate sequencing of trades and deliveries to meet key milestones.
- Supervise and mentor trade foremen and subcontractors; enforce quality standards and workmanship for drywall, flooring, and other finishes.
- Coordinate closely with MEP Superintendent and consultants to resolve field coordination issues and ensure systems are installed per design.
- Manage punch lists, inspections, and closeout documentation to ensure timely turnover and client satisfaction.
- Oversee safety and site housekeeping; enforce OSHA and company safety requirements and lead toolbox talks.
- Track labor and material productivity, report progress to project management, and recommend corrective actions to maintain budget and schedule.
- Use project management tools (including Procore when available) to maintain daily reports, RFIs, submittals, and field documentation.
- Coordinate tenant improvement work and site logistics to minimize disruption and meet lease/tenant requirements.
- Conduct quality control walks, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective plans to meet Division 9 and project finish standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years' experience as a Superintendent or Lead Superintendent on interior construction projects; demonstrable experience with interior build-outs.
- Proven track record on multi-family and high-rise projects with strong knowledge of Division 9 (finishes) installation and quality control.
- Hands-on experience supervising drywall and flooring installations and managing finish trades.
- Strong field coordination experience with MEP teams and ability to read and interpret architectural and MEP drawings.
- Experience managing tenant improvement projects and interior build-outs in occupied buildings.
- Proficient with project management platforms (Procore experience highly desirable).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills; ability to manage multiple trade partners and stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of construction scheduling, cost control, submittal/RFI processes, and quality assurance procedures.
- OSHA 30 certification or equivalent preferred; valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work in high-rise and mid-rise environments; comfortable with site mobility and lifting as required.
