The Miscellaneous Metals Fabrication Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the fabrication shop, ensuring that all metal fabrication projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to high-quality standards. The manager will lead a team of fabricators and welders, coordinate production schedules, and maintain inventory and equipment to meet customer demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the fabrication shop, including scheduling and workflow management.
- Supervise and lead a team of fabricators and welders to ensure quality and efficiency in production.
- Develop and implement shop policies and procedures to improve safety and productivity.
- Coordinate with project managers and customers to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Monitor inventory levels and order materials as needed to maintain production continuity.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and the shop to ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintenance standards.
- Provide training and mentorship to shop staff to enhance their skills and performance.
- Proven experience in metal fabrication, specifically with miscellaneous metals.
- Strong management skills with a track record of leading a production team.
- Knowledge of welding techniques and fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with shop safety practices and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience with managing shop operations and inventory control.
