About Yellowpine Truss - Yellowpine Truss is a new truss manufacturing company serving the construction industry. We're building a team and looking for an experienced Shop Manager to lead our production operations.
Position Overview - We're seeking a hands-on Shop Manager to oversee all production floor operations, manage 15 production team members, ensure quality standards, maintain safety compliance, and drive operational efficiency. This is a critical leadership role reporting directly to the Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise and lead 15 production employees across cutting, building, and finishing departments
· Manage daily production schedules to meet customer delivery commitments
· Ensure quality control standards and safety compliance (OSHA regulations)
· Train, develop, and mentor team leaders and production staff
· Optimize workflow efficiency and minimize material waste
· Coordinate with Client Account Manager on production timelines
· Maintain equipment and facility in excellent working condition
· Implement and enforce company policies and procedures
· Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with purchasing
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
· 5 years of production/manufacturing management experience (truss industry strongly preferred)
· Proven leadership managing 10 person teams
· Strong understanding of production scheduling and workflow optimization
· Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control standards
· Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
· Ability to read blueprints/technical drawings (preferred)
· Strong communication skills with team and leadership
· Hands-on, results-oriented management style
