Estimating Manager - Mechanical Construction

Position Overview

The Estimating Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the estimating processes for mechanical construction projects. This position is responsible for leading the estimating team, ensuring accurate bid proposals, and aligning projects with corporate objectives. The Estimating Manager will leverage both technical and leadership skills to drive project success and enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the estimating team in the preparation of bid packages for mechanical construction projects.
• Oversee project planning and coordination to ensure timely and accurate estimations.
• Utilize estimating software and tools, including AutoBid Integration and SysQue, to streamline the estimating process.
• Conduct market analysis to stay informed on material cost trends and labor factors affecting project estimates.
• Ensure data validation and accurate reporting of estimates to support decision-making processes.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors for effective collaboration.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members, fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
• Implement strategic management practices to align estimating activities with corporate objectives.
• Participate in on-site assessments to gather relevant data for accurate estimations.
• Assist in staff selection and team management to build a high-performing estimating team.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as an Estimating Manager or Chief Estimator in the mechanical contracting industry.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems including plumbing, ductwork, insulation, and controls.
• Experience with estimating software and tools, particularly AutoBid Integration and SysQue.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on team management and development.
• Excellent analytical skills with a strong ability to solve problems and make decisions effectively.
• Proficient in project management and deadline management practices.
• Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
