We're seeking a skilled Electrical Control Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you'll be hands-on with complex UL Listed control panels, cutting-edge industrial automation equipment, and field installations. You'll collaborate closely with Controls Engineers to bring advanced systems to life, ensuring they operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret electrical schematics to build, wire, and test UL Listed control panels (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, safety circuits, Ethernet, etc.)
- Perform power-on and I/O checkout of completed panels
- Travel to customer sites (up to 25%) to install power feeders, control panels, and field-wired devices/instrumentation
- Assist Controls Engineers with system power-on and commissioning
- Single and three-phase power wiring up to 480V
- Control circuit installation and troubleshooting
- Power feeder installation using RMC (rigid galvanized, stainless, PVC-coated), NEMA 1 & NEMA 4x stainless wireway, ladder cable tray
- Field wiring of motors, control valves, flow meters, sensors, analyzers, chart recorders, etc.
- Industrial communication protocols: 4-20mA analog loops, Ethernet/IP (copper & fiber), AS-Interface, IO-Link, DeviceNet, DH
- Troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, safety circuits, instruments, and communication networks
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical documentation
- Skilled in bending and installing rigid conduit (hand benders, Chicago benders, Greenlee 555, power threaders)
- Experience installing and terminating power feeders up to 750kcmil
- Proficiency in NEC and UL508a standards
- Use of diagnostic tools (multimeters, megohmmeters, loop calibrators, laptop software)
