We are seeking a motivated and experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation with a focus on insurance defense matters such as general liability, premises liability, construction accidents, property damage, and professional liability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload from inception through trial or settlement
- Draft pleadings, discovery, and motions
- Conduct depositions and court appearances
- Evaluate case strategy and communicate effectively with clients and carriers
- Attend mediations and negotiate settlements
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Admitted and in good standing with the New York State Bar
- 4 years of insurance defense or relevant litigation experience
- Strong writing, analytical, and courtroom skills
- Ability to handle multiple files in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with insurance carriers and understanding billing guidelines is a plus
