The Role
We are seeking experienced Network Cabling Technicians to support commercial network infrastructure installations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with structured cabling, network device installation, testing, and documentation, and holds a high bar for workmanship and safety on every site.
Responsibilities
- Install, route, secure, terminate, and dress CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT6A network cabling.
- Install network drops, patch panels, faceplates, racks, and related network hardware.
- Test and verify cable connectivity using industry-standard cable testing equipment.
- Label all cables and equipment in accordance with project standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve cabling issues as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Complete installation documentation and provide test results upon project completion.
Tools and Equipment
Technicians must be proficient with the following:
- Basic hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, cable cutters, and similar)
- RJ45 crimping tool
- Level 2 or Level 3 cable tester
- Cable fishing equipment (fish tape, fiberglass rods, and similar)
- Toner and probe kit
- Laser distance measuring device
- Punch-down tool
- Power drill and impact driver
- Portable label printer
- Folding ladder with a minimum reach of 12 feet
Qualifications
- Proven experience installing and terminating structured cabling systems.
- Strong understanding of TIA/EIA structured cabling standards and best practices.
- Ability to test, troubleshoot, and certify cable installations.
- Experience with proper cable labeling and installation documentation.
- Ability to read site drawings and follow installation instructions.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong communication skills and professionalism at customer sites.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- California candidates must have C-7 Low Voltage Systems Contractor License
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commercial network deployments and low-voltage installations.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- OSHA certification and lift certification, where applicable.
- Experience installing network devices, including switches, access points, cameras, and related equipment.
Pay: $32.50 - $38.50 per hour
